 Strange display news error - please help |

I was adding news, then all of a sudden when i went to the site to make sure they added correctly, the "short story" for a story was not displaying for the right story. ie, "short story"for item 4 was displayed on item 5.
When i click the 'preview' button under the post, it shows the right story. The xfield data is ok, but the short story seems to be the problem.

You will see the shirt with the wrong description (short story), its using hte short story from the item below it.
Please help me asap!

I'm sorry to say that but I guess I can't help you. 
The script was working fine, wasn't it? So unless you changed something in the code it can't be a script problem.
So it must be a database problem. Maybe there is a corrupt item in it which mixes up the order of the items. All I can tell you is to upload an old backup and see if that's working.
Edit:
When editing an item do you see the correct short story or is it mixed up as well?

I see the correct short story when i go and edit the item. Its strange i tell ya  I did notice that some of the items with the problem had some encoding problems. Do you think i should delete all those items and try again?

UPDATE: I tried editing story.MYD some of the id's were correct. I noticed the first number would be like 155, and the second number in the same line was 156, when it should be 157 (based on the pattern). I edited the file and uploaded, it said the story table doesnt exist. I took a look at news.myd but i havent figured out what to edit.
I went into the admin panel and deleted all the items that weren't using its right story and the one before. It seems to be working righ t. I'm guessing the story unique id wasn't correct, got messed up somehow. what do you think happened?
