This little plugin records the search words and shows them (with a graphical bar) in the admin panel.

I feel like such an idiot having to keep posting about the simplest questions... sorry in advance!

After installing the plugin and activating it as per instructions etc., I loaded up show_search.php directly and did a few searches; I'm not sure if the results are meant to be live/instantaneous but at present I receive a 'History is Empty' message. I've also noticed that the edit to show_search.php calls /data/search-history.txt but I'm not sure if it has actually been created automatically so maybe that's why?

If it isn't created, try creating a file named that way and CHMOD it to 777?

Thanks for the suggestion - I did try it before reading your post but just in case, I also CHMODDed the file to 777 as recommended. Maybe there's a time lag or something ... still not quite working. I'll poke about abit to make sure I've done the correct edits as well!

EDIT

Ok... I think I know why: apart from having to create search-history.txt itself (I think... presuming its not created automatically), the edit for show_search.php should refer to

Code:
$file_path = "./data/search-history.txt";

rather than

Code:
$file_path = "../data/search-history.txt";

The difference here is the extra dot in the file path. Smile I'm really excited now that I've got it working! Thanks FI-DD Very Happy
