is there a cutenews.RU hack for user restriktion that way that a user sees an additional special categorie (in the cat menu ie. or a link to it) according to his name (id, ...) when loggin in. I want to use the system for a support service, so I need a cat for a special group of members that shouldn't be seen by the others.
Couldn't it be done by an additional propperty for a user (editible only by the admin, maybe a number or a word) that would be requested every time a cat will be shown or listed?

Sorry, I do not understand - how do I map users to a category first? There are only user levels to be seen for me.

You can decide which categories a journalist (writer) can post to.
Options -> Manage users -> Edit

Ich glaube, ich werde mal bei Gelegenheit ein deutsches Forum hier einrichten. 
You have to enable the user restriction.
Go to Options -> System settings -> "News" -> "Determined categories for journalists" -> "Yes"

I also have the Problems with the ksort() and reset() errors in template.mdu within comments, dateheader, pagenumbers (not comment form).

Does it possibly have to do with this? I've no idea how to proceed in this points.
Now that I spend that much work on this, I can't find the backup feature (except in the plugins folders) nor the archive, that is so nice in cutePHP (...?). Is there a reference installation anywhere to look how it should be?

all-clear for user restiction!
I just found out a misunderstanding with the german translation. It works with level 3 users. I suggest to change the names and possibly add the levelno. Admn (1) Redakteur (2) Autor (3) Kommentator (4). That sounds good for each one and is plausible.
What remains are the other things mentioned before which are serious too.

I guess, you are hosted on a Windows server which causes these errors. I don't have a solution for this. Saving the templates should work - only problem is you don't see the tags available. But you can look them up in inc/lang/en/templates.ini.

There should be a link in your admin panel - main page.

I drive may cuteNewsRU with the textsql becaus of the cheep webspace for it. Actually I thought about an archive feature like in cutenewsPHP, which I installed for a friend. It's great, you can move news in and back again.
I should have said "... it's not to be seen except the archiv itselve" Not timeset for archiving, no expire date, no manual archiving of defines news ...?
New: the quixplorer looks fine - in spite of the upload-button, its grayed out, no link under the upload image. Shit for support, no copy or moove - and the Problem with the "login true/false". Still have not found where to hack the script.
