 New hosting and domain? |

Recently, Ramon sent me a message and suggested to move to a new host and to buy a new domain.
He is willing to pay for everything.
These are the questions bugging me since then:
1. Is the current hosting sometimes slow and/or not available?
2. Is there a need to change hosting and domain at all?
3. What's a good domain name to buy?
So what do you think?

1. I think the server this site's been running on has been quite stable, and fast for my part,
...untill now recently 
Sometimes it just shows blank page and other times it has showed an error message I was to lazy to write down, mostly because after a few frenetic hits on my F5 button everything was back to normal.
2. What would be cool with a new domain/server is to shorten the url, but that's not really an issue since this page is in my bookmarks, speed dial and top ten in opera^^
Could be good for SEO, though which could lead to more visitors, ideas, evolving and so on...
3. I hear that one.com is quite good, lots of space and support pretty cheap, but I don't use them myself...

Btw, question #3 refers to the specific domain name (e.g. www.cutenewsru.com).

Well if this project keeps going at it's current rate with the name cutenews.ru then I think cutenewsru.com would be a perfect domain. I think if the intent of this project is to grow as much as possible, the domain purchase would be a great marketing tactic to help it grow.
I would suggest setting it up something like:
http://www.cutenewsru.com - main site
http://forum.cutenewsru.com - forum
I haven't had any trouble with the forum or hosting ever though. I never get slow pages or blank pages. I do notice that things are getting more and more hectic here everyday (people catching on to this sweet script)
How hard is it going to be to switch hosts and move phpbb over without losing files and database? It would be awful to lose the archive of amazing content in this forum! Here's something that might be frustrating... phpbb.com offers a new version of phpbb so it might be hard to get support for this version of the forum.
If it's an easier solution I can put this forum on my godaddy account. I would be honored. I think I use about 2-3% of my bandwidth allotment per month so I doubt it'd ever be an issue and if it ever were I'd upgrade the hosting.

We don't need new forums. Cause we can just copy -> paste.. We copy all there is in the ftp of english.cutenews.ru and paste it to the ftp of the new server. We can easily transfer the MySQL database. The only thing we have to change is a few lines in the config.php file of the forums

Maybe something else. I don't know if I should place it here.
A good way to promote Cutenews.ru is to translate the http://english.cutenews.ru/scott/index.php page in other languages, for instance Dutch. I would like to translate it. It could bring a lot more Dutch users.

I'd really like a better CutenewsRU website with better organized plugin and skin downloads, and ofcourse language downloads.
I'd also like it to be powered by CuteNews.RU, so that people might actually see live what the script is capable of doing.
A better website without the obscure russian frontpage would quite possibly lead to an influx of users, and more users equals more features
I'd say cutenewsru.com is the best domain name at the moment, unless you decide to rename it or something.

I think PREFECTNEWS.COM (available) is a nice domain name and perfectnews v2.5 is a nice name for the script.
Also you have to submit it to www.opensourcecms.com (all scripts are there and with this perfect script you will make the BOOM).
But perfect news need some updates to make it more friendly for the stupid users.
Also the new index page must be based on "perfectnews" to show how the script can be in a perfect development.
For me Cutenews is very unprofessional is like a script named by a [little girl].
Also there is one other script named cutenews.com and his pagerank is very untouchable if you use cutenews.ru as a name for the script. Is like a war with no sense because this script is better but they have a perfect managment of marketing.

Well since Lexa likes Strawberry and we all like cutenews.ru.. what if we merge them into CuteBerry? Cuteberry.com is taken but all other domain extensions are availble (like cuteberry.net)
I agree cutenews is going to be a tough keyword to compete with but if people could see how customizable this is in comparison to every other CMS it would surely grow extremely quick and fight out much competition.

Ooo I like CuteBerry... but yea, domain is not available. Neither is BerryNews or NewsBerry.
As for the site, I have noticed it slowing down a bit recently. But seems to be up consistently.
I know there is often some confusion regarding the name, but I'm open to whatever the decision is.

If I had to pick the one best fit profiling english.cutenews.ru it'll be organisation.

@ RAMMSTEIN : Stupid users? Well I have never been stupid, but when I started with websites I did have a hard time learning and getting to understand things. So do others, also notice that most here don't speak english as there primary language, so it sometimes is very hard to explain what you really mean 
CNR is based on the original CuteNews, just as AJ-Fork is. The thing that made CNR stand out in the first place was that it had the capability to use MySQL as a database. That's the reason why I started using CNR instead of CN, since then the script has evolved really great. The plugin system that came later has really made this script one of the best in the businness.

@ Domain name discussion
I think we should stick with CNR. I'm not even sure if we are allowed to change the name of the script, since it was developed by lexa(and others) and even thought they moved on with Strawberry, all CNR versions are still owned by them.
So i'd say stick to the name. I have found a great free domain which we could use, i've send scott and FI-DD a pm with it, cause i'd hate to see someone swiftly registrering it after reading this post
