Has not been done. I can tell you that cutenews.ru now has more than enough to be a self sufficient forum with all of and more than the features of all the forums I have seen from other forum providers. A nice example of this hasn't been 100% created yet though

Dear scottdallas,
could you say when this nice cutenews forum will be 100% created and will be in our access? I am really 100% waiting for coming such a surprising plugin for cutenews.ru! I am sure it will change everything about cutenews!

lol i guess it'll be done as soon as someone wants to create it bad enough that they figure out how. I personally don't have the slightest idea where to even start with that.. nor does it seem like a huge necessity to make cutenews.ru a 100% working cms. It is 100% in my opinion.. just getting better a lot.

My idea for turning cutenews.ru into a forum is just using the registration add on, the guest can add news add on, and the login box.. that's all you really need.. show_members.php is a nice little extra.. But, you can change the 'guest can add news' so people post don't need approved before showing up on the site.. therefore making it just like a forum.. why not? Plus user avatars? Gettin even better.
I've been experimenting a lot with different ways to do memberships, logins, and displaying the comment form.. and there really is no restriction to how far you could take it.. It's overwhelming.

Going to start really basic on post & reply + login.
Already modified the login-box to get rid of the f**king tables.
I'll make sure how it's build can be viewed in the sourcecode and those who can't be seen will be posted on this forum as well.

The annoyance I have with the login box is that it doesn't like when you modify header information at all.. so I have to put it all by itself in an iframe.. which is actually kinda neat cause it will reload and log in without refreshing the entire page... like i did on www.embedtube.com
