Perhaps a new version should be released but it's almost futile that's why it hasn't been done. FI-DD has updated cutenews.ru 2.5.4 about 30 times over the last 2 years so it's very up-to-date. Also, you need to stick around the forum to watch what all of the smart coders do around here so you can integrate it into your own copy. It's just almost impossible to keep putting up a newer version, and a newer version, and a newer version. Everyone seems to have their own idea of what cutenews.ru should be for them.. so get yourself a 2.5.4 copy as your base copy.. then read around on the forum and add, change, tweak things to customize it for you.
