Set correct charset in both your newsfile and in inc/lang/en/global.ini is all I can think of...

strange, it works for me to get norwgian letters showing in my news this way...
but where do you want these letters... if it's in url-title or url-category it want work...

Yay, go norway!
The steps that have worked for me is as follows:
1. Put this snippet in between your <head>tags of the file that will show the news, ie. index.php or something:
 | | <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> |
2. Open cnr-folder/inc/lang/en(or whatever languagefolder you use)/global.ini, and change the firs line to this:
| | charset = "iso-8859-1" |
Well this is all I can remember, unfortunatly. BUT things you can do if this is not sufficiant, is to download a trial of Effective File Search and search for the term 'charset' in your cnr-folder, and then change every instance of what's originally there.
One thing to notice, though, is that there has been som debate concerning this in norskwebforum.no and most of the htmlfreaks voted for utf8 as the best encoding. Most websites I visit, however are using ISO-8859-1, and well, for me that work wonders as well!
