Looks cute bro.
Think you have a nice one there. Bit more color and image stuff in the layout would fresh up a lot i think.
The blue a:link are so... youtube/google (boring)
But you're doning a great job again!

By the way, you must be single after a divorse, you definately have no job, your social life is at it's lowest point, you dog died cos of not getting something to eat and you should smell like shit because the word 'shower' is not in your dictionary Laughing
You are so busy making websites... where do you get the time for it dude? And you're a musician too...

haha thanks.. it's hard to balance time. I just sacrifice sleep and I can do it all!

I did the ff0000 blue links because I noticed people aren't afraid to click them and this site isn't worth crap if no one clicks crap. Man look how many clicks YouTube and Google get with their stupid blue links. That's their money maker and I'm not changing it lol

I think you should add more whitespace to the page, it looks a bit busy. Increase the margins and/or paddings.

It is pretty busy but at least it's pure good content to click. Not a single ad on the page.. unless you consider all the content ads since it's a site that promo's other sites which are circulated through my other sites as ads.

Do you think they look funny? I think they look way nicer than the Google text ads personally..

http://www.scottdizzle.com <-- has growingsites.com ads on top and right
http://www.scodal.com <-- has growingsites.com ads in same places.. right bar ads are text ads instead just for experimental purposes.

looks good
are you making screenshots yourself and uploading images.

I have just made a new site listing local community websites in the UK still under construction.
I have used thumbshots for the images, as long as the sites are on dmoz etc. it will generate a thumbnail
my site is http://www.wvis.co.uk

and the thumbshots site is http://www.thumbshots.com/ several versions I use the FREE one.

Using cutefields I just put in the site url and with the code in my template it generates it.
Only trouble is you can have listings with no thumbshots

Thanks.. I'm going to be changing a few things around here and there.. I've thought of ways to make the site more meaningful and efficient to everyone.

Yes, I do the screenshots myself.. I'm addicted to 160x120 screenshots because it's exactly half of 320x240.. which reminds me of DOS games and the size of a standard web video lol.. and they come out to be nice screenshots that are just big enough to make you want to click lol. Plus, I like knowing that my images will never disappear and I can change them anytime. Plus, they're really easy to do.. but you need mspaint (pbrush) from Windows 2000 or else Windows XP will drive you insane with it's retarded 'upgraded' version.

http://www.wvis.co.uk looks very nice and streamlined.. I like that yours is much more automated. How'd you figure out how to do that?

I had used the thumbnails coding on another site so just thought if I put it in my template and used a cutefield to add the site url it would generate the thumbnail easier. Code for my template is below.

Code:
<table class="listing2">
  <tr>
    <td colspan="2" class="titlefont">{title}</td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td width="29%"><div align="center"><img src="http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf?url={cf:photourl}" border="1" onload="if (this.width>50) this.border=1; this.alt='Thumbnails by Thumbshots.org';" /></div></td>
    <td width="71%" align="left" valign="top"><p><span class="sitelist">{short-story}</span><br />
          <a href="{cf:website}" target="_blank" class="urlvisit">Visit Website</a> </p>    </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td colspan="2" class="cato">Category: {category}</td>
  </tr>
</table>

Hope it give you some ideas to speed up adding sites.

Wow, that's really neat. Yeah, that would help adding really fast to sites.. but only if more sites had something like that URL: http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf?url=xxxxx :p

Nice work though.. that's some good thinking and coding right there. Very smart and efficient.

is the code thumbshots give you to put on your site

Quote:
image.pxf?url=xxxxx

you just replace the xxxxx with the url of the site you are listing. or in my case a cutefield entered url
