I found a script which allows you to backup and restore the complete database structure and its content.

It's not very comfortable to install right now because you have to fill in your database details in the two php files.

Maybe lexa can integrate it into CuteNews.RU? I think many people would like it. Very Happy

If not, it's not bad either. It's working the way it is right now, as well.

Read the readme.txt for installation instructions.

Post Backup & Restore MySQL Database Reply with quote
Fascinating!! ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING!!

I suddenly feel very complete Very Happy

I backed up the database from my site and did a test cutenews.ru installation on a different site and did a restore (ofcourse i had to make sure both databases had the same name and login)!! It worked flawlessly!!

But do u know that nowhere, i repeat 'NOWHERE' on this forum (atleast i cudnt find any) is even a single word mentioned that this wonderful feature is already integrated with ur cutenews.ru 2.5.4 installation!!

There ofcourse is the link to backup the database on the main menu when u login as admin. But hidden in the same folder there is the restore file as well!! All u need to do is type the url for this file in ur browser!!

Ex - www.mydomain.com/cutenews/backup/dosql.php[backupfilename.sql.gz]

Hey just a after thought, what if somebody figures out the path to the file and types the link?? It'l jst restore it right?? But dont u think this is a potential place for a hacker?? Cant we put something in the file to make sure its the administrator??

Does including the head.php file achieve this??

It would also be great if the backup & restore functions could both be accessed from the same page. Or i guess it would do to atleast have a 'restore' link rite next to the 'backup' link in the admin main page.
