We wanna fund a CMS for music portals... something like Jamroom, but "simpler".

Finally, we found a developer (Eugene Bulkin) that has a similar idea:

FreeBand's project page @ SF.net wrote:
A framework for a website for a band. Currently requires simple flatfile coding, but will eventually support a web interface for that in itself. Includes a page for downloading and displaying discography, and a built-in news system (currently CuteNews).

Now, after i mailed him, here's the news:

FreeBand 1.2 changelog wrote:
CuteNews.ru is now going to be used instead of the old CuteNews (due to development problems). This will be a much better system.

Hi everyone, my name is Marco and i'm the president of a young italian cultural association devoted to help emerging artists.

Choosed scripts (final):

- User backend (pPIM)

- News management (CuteNews.RU)

- Download management (phpATM)

- Ecommerce: Quick.Cart

- Newsletter management (OpenNewsletter)

Still Under Evaluation:

- Galleries (like Qdig, Idut Gallery...)

- Guestbook (something like SignMe but administrable, flatPHPbook)

- Links management (from brim ? or Thetaworld Links Catalog ?)

Post your suggestions/constructive critics !

Hi Marco,

I read your list and I have other suggestions/critics for the developing of your Cms:

Download management: I run PhpATM (an old version, maybe now it's changed) and I find it heavy. You can't have a pagination for your files but only a looooooooong list. It doesn't run with MySql but it's text based. Maybe you can find another script more useful (try PaFileDB http://www.phparena.net/scripts.php?script=pafiledb)

E-commerce: why you don't use OSCommerce? It's a very capable script with lot of features http://www.oscommerce.com/

For the Gallery, I suggest Coppermine http://coppermine-gallery.net/

This is my idea. Try the above scripts, they have a demo on their website Wink

Ciao

Thanks for suggestions, but all scripts you mentioned are SQL backended.

NO WAY.

I'm not sure what you're asking for. Do you need a web designer? Cutenews has everything you are asking for and need if you feel like putting your site together. I use it to organize all my original music at http://www.scottdizzle.com, run a community, a weblog, run an online store, an entertainment site, and many other things. You can do anything with it flat file or mysql. Do you need to hire someone to put your web project together?
